Numerology: Chaldean VS. Western

Chaldean Numerology

Chaldean Numerology is closely related to the Vedic system of India and to the Qaballic system of the Jewish Mystics. This system of numbers is based on the fact that letters representing sound (phonetics) have vibrational patterns, and that there are corresponding numbers which identify these vibrational patterns. The patterns are then translated into a language that can be understood and used by everyone. The language provides you with a unique "blueprint" of talents, abilities, and challenges that ask to be expressed in this lifetime.

The letters of the name reveal the Soul Desire, Personality, Purpose, and the Soul Qualities while the birthdate reveals the Destiny, Personal Year, Cycles & Challenges and the Pinnacles. The Life Goal is a combination of the name and birthdate.

Differences Between Chaldean and Western Numerology

The major differences between the Chaldean and Western number system is the way value is designated by alphabet and number. The Chaldean system assigns the number value by sound whereas the Western system assigns the number value by the sequence of the Western alphabet, e.g., "A" = 1, "B" = 2, "C" = 3, "D" = 4, "E" = 5, "F" = 6, "G" = 7, "H" = 8, and "I" = 9.

The number assignment of the Western system then repeats itself through the alphabet, starting with the "1" again and proceeding through "9," continuing to repeat the sequence until the end of the alphabet.

The Western alphabet assignment totally discounts the most important aspect of Numerology--the concept of vibration and the numerical designation of each vibrational pattern. As a result, the Western system virtually destroys the validity of the name numbers (or any other name number) and their meaning. What Western Numerology fails to acknowledge is the fact that the language of the numbers coming off our names gives us the most important facts about the direction in which our lives are unfolding. Insight into our vibrational blueprint will enable us to become more consciously aware of those available "natural" aspects of our road map. We can take advantage of this enfoldment by choosing to help ourselves by focusing in on finding our own unique path for a fulfilling life and taking the right actions. In doing so, we can learn to depend on the inner vibrations that are constantly flowing outward from the center of our environment. You can leverage this knowledge in a positive way to move from where you are to where you want to be.

The Western and Chaldean systems of calculating numbers are shown below with the respective numerical value assigned to each letter in the alphabet. The formula for the Western version, also referred to as the Pythagorean number system, calculates using numbers 1 - 9, whereas the Chaldean system calculates using numbers 1 - 8.

You
can see below the vast discrepancy between the two systems, and their numerical value calculation; thus affecting the accuracy of your readings. The end result of our findings clearly indicates the Chaldean number system is by far a more accurate system for predicting future trends and events in one's life.

*The Chaldean/Vedic/Qaballic systems of numbers did not assign the "9" to any letter. In the ancient "mystery" schools of knowledge, the "9" was considered the most "SACRED" of the numbers. Its vibratory force included the attributes of all the numbers and, therefore, did not (could not) represent any individual symbol or letter.

Can Lucky Numbers be Calculated?

The answer is no! In Chaldean Numerology, there is no such thing as a lucky number; a number is neither lucky or unlucky, it is simply a vibrational pattern.

In Western Numerology, lucky numbers are continuously calculated as if they are "real." This is a misconception and those Numerologists who claim to have the ability to give you lucky numbers are doing you a disservice.

Summary

We have purposely described both systems of Numerology here in an effort to inform you inform you of the differences between the two systems prior to your choosing which version of Numerology to select for generating your blueprint/chart. To learn  more about Numerology, refer to our book entitled, "Numbers-The Powerful Bridge Beyond: Chaldean Numerology for the New Millennium" written by Joanne Justis and William Mykian for a more in-depth explanation of the Chaldean number system. We know that Chaldean Numerology offers far greater insight and accuracy into an individual's blueprint as opposed to the Western number system of calculation.  Feedback that we have received from doing readings and consultations well over twenty-seven years also supports these findings.
