There are two recognized versions of Numerology in use today, the Chaldean and Western number systems. The versions use different mathematical formulas, and therefore produce different readings. Nearly twenty-four years ago, my mother, Betty Gibson, who originally founded Numbers R U became fascinated with Numerology but she couldn’t achieve accuracy using the Western system. Shortly thereafter, she discovered the Chaldean system of numbers and rewrote her computer program that was originally based on the Western System. Feedback from private consultations in the 1980s confirmed the accuracy of her charts once she converted to the Chaldean number system.
Most Numerologists prefer the Western system of interpreting the numbers because it’s by far easier to learn than Chaldean Numerology. Obviously they did not put the required time in to investigate the differences between the two systems nor did they apparently read any of the history books. Had they done so, they would have discovered their system to be flawed; therefore, producing inaccurate results. To become an expert, it is your responsibility to delve into the subject matter and then drill down further to check the facts. This is especially true when you are dealing with people’s lives and giving them personal information. I hate to think just how many people made bad decisions based on the wrong information they were given. After all, how would they know the information was not accurate?
Historically, Chaldean Numerology is the oldest Numerology system around which was originally developed in Ancient Babylon and the least known about. The Chaldeans used Numerology to predict the future and to better understand their people. We know that the Babylonians practiced Numerology years prior to Pythagoras’s theorem, dating back to 4004 BCE (before common era). The belief was that Pythagoras, the Greek Philosopher, mystic, mathematician, and astronomer was probably the first person to prove the value of Numerology as a numbers science; however, no one ever stopped to question which number system was more accurate, they just assumed that Western Numerology was as proclaimed by a student.
For those who might not know, there are nine missions in our blueprint depending on how you count them. The birthname reveals the Soul/Heart’s Desire (emotional), Personality, Purpose and eight lessons to be learned in this lifetime called Soul Qualities. The birthdate reveals the Destiny, Birthdate Cycles, Challenges, and Pinnacles. The combination of the name and birthdate together reveal the Life Goal which is a mid-life goal starting around age “50.”
The importance of knowing what our missions are is simply to have a better understanding of how we are designed or wired. Some of us are born leaders, diplomats, humanitarians, teachers, entertainers, healers, builders etc. By knowing what our blueprint reveals, we have a better understanding of our compatibilities, behaviors, strengths and weakness.
